There is one Minecraft game, currently there are three different versions on different platforms, computer, gaming consoles, and pocket edition for mobile devices.

NO! There is no Minecraft 2.

Game consoles is $20-$40 depending on what store or site you buy it from
Mobile devices is $7 on all supported devices I believe

On your app store for your mobile device
 |

More than one person can use the same account, but only one player can be logged into the account on a computer at a time. I suggest getting more then one account if you have children or family members who want to play together.
|
 What is a seed?
Can it have viruses?
No. It cannot give you viruses. Seeds are numbers that identify a world. Each world has a seed. You can add seeds to your game to get a world you want.
 |
Do I need to play with others?
No. Single player is a thing. You can choose to play multiplayer or on servers.
|
Do I need to have mods to play on servers with mods?
No. Most servers that use mods put the mods into the server itself so everyone can use the mod(s).
 |
Can I stop losing my stuff when I die?
Yes. On computer open the command line (in-game) (by typing T) and type this: /gamerule keepInventory true.
You can find keep inventory in the setting when you make a world on console and mobile.
|
How do I report griefers on servers?
Tell a moderator on the server or contact the server owners on social media with the player’s IGN (in game name).
 |
What are mods?
Mods are unofficial changes to the way the game looks or acts. You can download them on websites and forums. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN DOWNLOADING MODS.
 |
What are resource packs?
Resource packs are files that modify the game by changing the images and sound files, they’re a lot less risky.
 |
Can I turn off hostile mobs?

You can turn them off by setting the game mode to Peaceful. You can also stop them from spawning in Survival mode by typing the command /gamerule doMobSpawning false, non-hostile mobs will be turned off too.

Is Herobrine real?

Why do my kids talk about Herobrine? What is it? Why does he haunt games?

Herobrine (About this sound /ˈhæ roˌbraɪn/ (IPA key) ʜᴀʀʀ-oh-ʙʀᴇʏᴇɴ (respell key)) is the subject of a community-made creepypasta. He is one of the major community icons of Minecraft. Herobrine has not been present in any version of Minecraft. -Official Minecraft Wiki (http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Herobrine)

Herobrine is NOT in the game. Though, you can get him into your world from a Herobrine mod.

Herobrine is not in Minecraft.

There are no references to him at all in the source code, and there is no code to allow for any entity to act like Herobrine. There is no level terrain code to generate 2×2 tunnels or elaborate dungeons with traps.

There is no possible way Herobrine can ever exist in any unmodded clients or servers. Any claims that he is in Minecraft are completely false. Any appearances he may have are caused by mods being installed.

All signs of Herobrine, like trees with no leaves, random glowstone towers, suspicious messages on signs, etc. are either glitches, formatted naturally, or placed by another player to mislead you.

The Minecraft Wiki and Forums do not partake in any viral Herobrine hoax. Any deletion of Herobrine-related comments or stories are purely because Herobrine does not exist, and the stories are either fictional, with an intent to mislead others, or the result of users playing mods installed on their game (possibly without their knowledge). -Official Minecraft Wiki (http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Herobrine)

(Credit to Minecraft Wiki for the two blockquotes. I did not write these two blockquotes.)

4J Studios (Makers of the console versions) will sometimes add jokes in that they “removed Herobrine”. Do not take them seriously.

What are Snapshots?

Snapshots are previews into updates. They show you what the next update contains.

Snapshots have a rare chance of corrupting worlds or files. Keep a save of your world before enabling snapshots. Minecraftygirl cannot be held responsible for corrupted worlds or files.
